June 24th is a very auspicious—or rather, pawspicious—holiday. It’s Cat World Domination Day! This adorable event honors these endearing tiny bundles of joy and inquiry. You have to admit that, for being so small, cats have a way of winding us around their little paws. In this post, a local Brantford, ON  vet provides some advice on how to celebrate this special occasion with Fluffy.

What Exactly Is Cat World Domination Day?

To go a little deeper into the holiday’s history, Cat World Domination Day was founded in 2012 as a birthday gift for Fluffy by the humans who own the kitties of the sparklecat blog. That’s the official story. Unofficially, it could be the date that Fluffy resolved to pursue World Domination.

Do Cats Really Want to Rule The World?

We honestly cannot provide an official response to this question. A group of researchers attempting to investigate the subject went missing under mysterious circumstances and have never been seen again.

What Would Happen If Cats Took Over the World?

While Fluffy isn’t talking about her plans, we do have something of an inside scoop on this one. Our feline patients have certainly given us some insight into what to expect.

According to our best guesses, Fluffy’s official requests would include the following:

Statues: You could definitely anticipate enormous feline monuments appearing in every town square. Every street and municipality would most likely be titled after renowned cats. Given the scarcity of famous cats, every municipality would definitely have a few Garfield drives, avenues, roads, parkways, circles, courts, and lanes.

Kitty Entertainment: Fluffy would most likely want to see stocked ponds and moats in front of every residence. This one isn’t as absurd as you might assume. Cats were so popular in ancient China that several communities had fishponds dedicated to them. Our feline pals may also want to see aviaries in every park and neighborhood.

Strays’ Food/Water Stations: the world is home to millions of stray cats. With our feline overlords in command, we’d like to see greater assistance and resources for homeless cats. This one really isn’t very far-fetched. In Turkey, for example, stray cats are regarded as communal pets. Many companies keep food and water out for them, allowing the cats to come in and sleep or just hang out. Fluffy is also enjoying a pretty comfortable life in Italy, where similar policies keep the country’s homeless felines safe and fed.

Catnip Gardens: Another infrastructural alteration that we might expect is the establishment of catnip gardens. Fluffy enjoys spider plants and honeysuckle, so these would most likely be included as well.

No More Mondays!:  In honor of Garfield, Monday may be removed from the calendar in honor of Garfield. Don’t get too excited, though: it would be replaced by another Wednesday.

Building Codes: Do you have a pathway and catio for your kitty companion? Does Fluffy have a bed, a comfortable window perch, and at least one cat tower in each room? Have you created a kitten garden and at least one box castle? If this is the case, you won’t need to make any big modifications. Otherwise, you may be required to execute specific modifications.

Is There Any Proof That Cats Are Attempting To Take Over the World?

We have yet to uncover any physical files or data on this one. However, there are some historical cues to consider.

The first option is, of course, ancient Egypt. Fluffy persuaded the ancient Egyptians to revere her as a divinity. There is even an Egyptian cat goddess, Bastet. In fact, cats were so popular in ancient Egypt that when a family’s feline died, the humans would shave their brows in grief. The Sphinx is, of course, another excellent example of how esteemed (or even feared) cats were in ancient culture.

Fluffy did not do poorly in ancient Siam, either. She was the favorite pet of many royal and noble families, and she was of course lavishly pampered.

Cats have also left their imprint in less impressive ways. Those distinctive kitty paw prints have been discovered on medieval manuscripts, as well as in ancient Roman cement!

We also may need to consider the fact that Man’s Second Best Friend has been quietly training for this takeover for decades. Fluffy has been practicing mastering the use of her claws and teeth for quite some time. In fact, kittens almost immediately begin to experiment with scratching and biting techniques. (They also accomplish this by practicing on us, but that’s another subject.)

However, kitties have not only been practicing martial arts. They’re also dedicated to learning computer programming, which they do by sleeping on laptops and strolling across keyboards. They’ve been reading, which they do by sleeping on books, magazines, and laptops. Our feline friends have also dabbled in a variety of occupations, learning about spycraft, politics, and retail, to mention a few things.

Last but not least, we must remember that kitties are, well, charming little serial killers. Every year, these adorable and innocent-looking balls of fur kill billions of little animals. Ask your Brantford, ON vet for advice on how to keep your feline companion safe.

What Is the Cat Treatise About?

The Cat Treatise, also known as the Tamra Meow or The Cat-Book of Poems, is one of the most compelling pieces of evidence for cat dominance in the globe. How Can We Stop Fluffy from Taking Over the World?

Overpopulation is a factor in serious issues such as neglect, abuse, and abandonment. It is also critical to keep your feline pal happy, healthy, and purring. Choose a new toy or some catnip for Fluffy! You might also try to please her by spending additional time touching or playing with her.

Another thing you could do? Make sure your cat is safe and sound indoors. This will not only frustrate Fluffy’s intentions to take over the globe, but it will also keep her safe from traffic, weather, predators, and parasites, as well as substantially reducing her chances of becoming lost, injured, or worse.

You might also offer your cute pet a little treat. Salmon, chicken, or fish would be OK as long as the skin, bones, and fat were removed.
